Sr. Principal Scientist, Global R&D Nutrition Sciences PhD, PepsiCo
Dr. Tristin Brisbois is the Senior Principal Scientist for Global R&D Nutrition Sciences, at PepsiCo in New York. In this role she advances the translation of nutrition science in key areas, directing and guiding regional product innovation and brand communications PepsiCo North American beverages. She also provides expert input and support on external stakeholder issues and oversees PepsiCo North American nutrition communication outreach program and strategy. Prior to working for PepsiCo (September 2013), Dr. Brisbois was the Manager of Nutrition and Scientific Affairs at the Canadian Sugar Institute (2010-2013), where she led the Institute's nutrition communications program. Tristin completed her PhD and BSc (Nutrition and Food Science) at the University Alberta. Her PhD investigated food intake behaviour in cancer with a focus on appetite stimulation and improvement of taste and smell perception using marijuana therapy. She studied appetite and reward related pathways in healthy and disease populations, and explored mechanisms which may cause a surfeit (obesity) or deficit (cancer) of calories.
