Jess Haines is an Associate Professor of Applied Nutrition at the University of Guelph. Prior to coming to Guelph, Dr. Haines was a junior faculty member at the Obesity Prevention Program at Harvard Medical School. In 2015, she received a CIHR New Investigator Award. Her research focuses on developing and testing family-based interventions aimed at promoting healthful eating, activity and sleep behaviours among preschool-aged children. She is the Associate Director of the Guelph Family Health Study, a cohort of families with preschool-age children (Director: Dr. David Ma). Dr. Haines is also the Director of the Parent-Child Feeding Laboratory. The overarching goal of the laboratory research is to identify how parent-child feeding interactions influence children’s eating behaviours.
