Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC)
Anne Kennedy is Deputy Director, Innovation and Regulations for the Food Industry Division at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. Ms. Kennedy has 30 years of experience working with government, industry, academia and the not-for-profit sector. Prior to joining AAFC, Anne was the President and CEO of the National Institute of Nutrition (NIN), a unique Canadian multi-sector NGO thatbrought together industry, government and the scientific community to ensure credible, objective and science-based information on food and nutrition was available to inform policy decisions and best practice guidelines. Ms. Kennedy’s diverse career has included positions as a public health nutritionist in Hamilton, a manager with the Canadian Egg Marketing Agency, and as a nutrition educator. She is a member of the Canadian Advisory Committee for the International Life Sciences Institute - North America and was a member of the inaugural CIHR Institute Advisory Board for the Institute of Nutrition, Metabolism and Diabetes. Ms. Kennedy received her Masters of Health Science in Community Nutrition from the University of Toronto and an undergraduate degree in Applied Human Nutrition from the University of Guelph. More recently she completed Michigan State University’s International Food Laws and Regulations program.
