Attending Neonatologist, Mount Sinai Hospital
Dr Unger is from New Brunswick and completed her medical training at Dalhousie University. She is an Attending Neonatologist at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, a Senior Clinical Scientist at the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute and an Associate Professor in Medicine at the University of Toronto. Along with Dr Deborah O'Connor, she is a Primary Investigator for the Canadian Institutes of Health Research funded programs of research in neonatal nutrition entitled OptiMoM and MaxiMom; Optimizing and Maximizing mother's own milk for the very low birth weight infant. Dr Unger is the Medical Director for the Rogers Hixon Ontario Human Milk Bank that currently supplies human donor milk to neonatal intensive care units throughout Ontario. The majority of Dr Unger's training in neonatal nutrition however came from her three daughters.
